Comfortable shoes are recommended for the walking portions of the trip. For the river and bamboo rafting activities, light, comfortable clothing is ideal, while sun protection and a rain layer are useful depending on the season.
They offer two very different experiences. The Li River Cruise lets you sit back and take in Guilin’s grand karst scenery on a larger sightseeing boat, while Yulong River Bamboo Rafting is slower and more intimate, bringing you closer to the countryside and riverbanks.
Yes, especially if you want more than sightseeing from a vehicle. The countryside breeze ride gives you time to enjoy Yangshuo’s karst peaks, rural roads, and open scenery at a much more relaxed, immersive pace.
There is moderate walking at attractions, old streets, villages, and scenic areas, but the itinerary is not built around long hikes. Cruises, cableway rides, private transfers, and the countryside ride provide plenty of opportunities to enjoy the scenery without spending every day on foot.
Ruyi Peak changes the perspective completely. Instead of viewing Guilin’s mountains from the river or roadside, you take the cableway into the hills and experience the landscape from above, with elevated viewpoints, a glass bridge, and cliffside walkways.
