Our driver collects you at your Hangzhou hotel around 08:30 and drives about two hours to Quzhou. The first stop is the Nanzong Confucius Temple, home to one of Confucius’ southern family branches, then a short walk to the Quzhou Museum. After a local lunch, wander Fushan Park and browse street food on Mazhandi Snack Lane. Late afternoon: Shuitingmen Gate, the old city wall, and free time inside Three Streets & Seven Lanes. Before dinner, watch Tianwang Pagoda light up. Overnight in Quzhou.

Today's Highlights

  • Stand inside the Nanzong branch hall of the Confucian family
  • Taste Quzhou street food on Mazhandi Lane — spicy fish, rice cakes
  • Wander the lantern-lit stone alleys of Three Streets & Seven Lanes

Leave Quzhou after breakfast and drive about an hour to Jianglang Mountain, the trio of granite peaks on the UNESCO list. Walk the stairway paths and lower photo platforms at an easy pace. Continue by car to Nianbadu Ancient Town, a Ming and Qing border settlement of workshops, ancestral halls, and farmhouse kitchens — lunch is here. In the afternoon, stop at Qingyang Mao Culture Village, the ancestral home of China’s largest Mao clan lineage, for a stroll among its ponds and old lanes. Return to your Quzhou hotel.

Today's Highlights

  • Look up at the three granite fingers of UNESCO-listed Jianglang
  • Walk the stone lanes of a preserved Ming-Qing border market town
  • Meet the ancestral halls and ponds of the Qingyang Mao village

Check out and drive about forty minutes south to the Root Palace Buddhist Culture Tourism Area in Changle — a striking complex of carved-root sculptures, temple halls, and a long corridor of luohan figures that first-time visitors rarely expect. Spend two to three hours wandering at your own pace with your guide, then enjoy a light lunch nearby. Get back on the expressway and return to Hangzhou, arriving at your hotel or Hangzhou East Railway Station in the late afternoon.

Today's Highlights

  • Walk the carved-root corridor of a hillside Buddhist complex
  • See thousands of carved-root luohan figures in one quiet hall
  • A private drive back to Hangzhou with hotel or station drop-off
