Stone Forest offers a very different karst experience, with dense clusters of tall limestone formations creating narrow paths, natural corridors and striking silhouettes. It is one of the most distinctive landscapes on this route.
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) offer the most comfortable temperatures and clearest skies. Summer brings rain but also lush greenery; winter is mild in Kunming but cooler in Dali.
